Medical Coder I: Professional and institutional components for outpatient primary care

Medical Coder II: Professional and institutional components for outpatient specialty clinics, day surgeries, emergency room, observation services

Medical Coder III: Inpatient facility coding - Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Group (MS-DRG)

Essential Job Duties Documentation Review - Identify and resolve inconsistencies, ambiguities, or discrepancies that may lead to inaccurate coding or affect quality patient care. Code Assignment - Accurately assign Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS); includes utilization of modifiers and units of service, and International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification (ICD-CM) diagnoses codes based on medical record documentation for outpatient encounters; inpatient includes ICD-10 Procedure Coding System (ICD-10-PCS) System Utilization - Utilize the Military Health System (MHS) Genesis systems to remotely access patient records and assign codes for patient encounters.
