ABOUT THE POSITION/DEPARTMENT: The Office Assistant part-time temporary position is with the Dawson County Attorney Office. This position is a Part-time/Temporary position and will be under the direct supervision of the Dawson County Attorney.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED equivalent or currently working toward a diploma or GED.

Knowledge of computers and electronic data processing, advanced word processing skills. Work processing programs (Word); data entry.

Skilled in operation of any listed tools and equipment;

Skilled in proper grammar and punctuation. Organizational skills.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Work under pressure with many interruptions.

Ability to be self-motivated and to carry out projects to their completion without constant supervision, work independently.

Need to be able to lift up to 30 lbs. (to carry boxes from the basement to desk to scan).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answering the telephone, directing calls, responding to callers inquires if possible and as appropriate and greets and routes members of the public and county staff in a respectful and professional manner. Make copies, send faxes, scan and email documents, maintain documents electronically, open, maintain, organize, and close legal files. Other duties as assigned May assist in ordering office supplies, setting up appointments, and conference calls, updating office calendars and communicating on the phone or electronically with law enforcement.
