Serve as a member of the financial services team of the $2 billion Dallas ISD to monitor complex accounts from supporting data to General Ledger.

Review all accounting transactions and back up for the funds managed by the General Ledger team to ensure recognition following general accounting principles, Texas Education Agency guidelines, and applicable policies and laws.

Provide direction and assistance to other departments and campuses regarding accounting policies, procedures, and efficient internal controls.

Review and evaluate assigned revenues, and expenditure line codes to assess the accuracy and obtain the necessary documentation for journal adjustments if needed.

Work closely with the assistant director/ director to understand and maintain focus on their reporting needs and create moderately complex Oracle and/or Excel reports for reporting and analyzing information.

Proactively analyze data to answer key questions for stakeholders and identify District revenue and expenditure trends.

Monitor the state aid revenue collection and recapture cost to ensure the District's data match the numbers in the Texas Education Agency database, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all the District's investment and Flexible Spending accounts and ensure all outstanding items are resolved promptly.

Research and investigate discrepancies between the general ledger and the bank reports and provide assistance to other departmental units with variance corrections.

Coordinate and assist the assistant director and director in implementing and improving the complicated GASB Statement No.96 into the District's business and yearly process.

Test any new updates to the Oracle system and other accounting software to ensure that all accounting entries are properly processed and posted to General Ledger.

Prepare year-end financial statement notes and schedules as assigned.

Keep abreast of technical, legislative, and professional trends and developments affecting bank reconciliation and disseminate information to appropriate district personnel.

Assist the department in establishing, maintaining, and updating accounting procedures, processes, and internal controls.

Assist internal and external auditors when required.

Review and process all payroll-related transactions from payroll subledger to general ledger for Biweekly and monthly payroll.

Reconcile the pension scheme- Teachers Retirement Scheme (TRS) for the district.

Reconcile the self-insured, worker's compensation transactions for the district

Analyze the Program Indent Code (PIC) State Allotment Monitor Program (SAMP template) to ensure the required allotment is spent and the spending ratio is met by the Texas Education Agency guideline.

Analyze, interpret and evaluate data or information to identify financial issues and determine District compliance.
