Job purpose

Seeking a Marine Mechanic who is highly skilled in inspecting and performing routine boat maintenance. The mechanic should be able to service and repair electrical and mechanical equipment on marine vessels. They are tasked with the repair and maintenance of all marine engines including outboard motors, inboard motors, and some diesel engines. Applicants must be available to work Saturdays.

Duties and responsibilities

Perform routine service inspections, tests, and engine services.

Ability to multitask and handle multiple work orders at one time. Including parts ordering, job tracking and utilization of computer systems to document work.

Repair a variety of boats and trailers.

Move boats and trailers in all lengths.

Be able to work independently or with a team.

Be able to work in both in-door and outdoor environments.

Provide customers with a positive service experience.

Work with the Service Manager and others to perform all tasks outlined above as well as all additional tasks needed to successfully run the business.

Provide personal hand tools.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Maintain knowledge of marine diagnosis technology.

Attend manufacturer training for continued education.

Qualifications

Proven work experience as a Marine Mechanic.

Knowledge of marine engine and electrical auxiliary systems.

Welding skills a plus.

Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.

Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.

Passionate about boats, watercrafts, and the marine lifestyle

Strong mechanical aptitude

Detail oriented, willingness to learn and succeed; self-motivated.

Team player

Honest and dependable

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and your own reliable source of transportation.

Possession of a boating safety course certificate is a plus.

Experience operating a boat.
