Position Summary:

The Purchasing & Pricing Associate plays a vital supporting role within the Purchasing Department, assisting the Purchasing Manager with sourcing raw materials, maintaining vendor relationships, coordinating pricing updates, and managing supply chain logistics. This role ensures accurate purchasing, pricing, and inventory records, supports data analysis, and contributes to business development initiatives. The Associate will track shipments, monitor market trends, and help execute pricing strategies to align with customer needs and company goals. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a dynamic, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

**

Purchasing & Merchandising**

Support purchasing and merchandising efforts across assigned categories.

Assist in demand forecasting and raw material planning.

Monitor and trace rail and truck shipments to maintain timely inventory pipelines.

Maintain up-to-date purchasing records, pricing details, and item data in ERP and pricing systems.

Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, resolve issues, and maintain accurate product and pricing information.

Collaborate with internal teams (operations, sales, and quality) to ensure alignment between supply and pricing strategies.

Stay current on internal processes and evolving customer requirements.

Gather and summarize market data and cost trends to support purchasing and pricing decisions.

Pricing & Cost Analysis

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of pricing files for D&D Ingredients across all customers products and consigned customer pricing files.

Support the development of customer pricing models based on raw material costs, logistics, and service requirements.

Track commodity markets, freight costs, and vendor pricing to provide data-driven recommendations.

Coordinate with finance and customer service to ensure accurate and timely updates to pricing files and quotes.

Assist in margin analysis, cost comparisons, and identifying opportunities for cost savings or value-added services.

Assist and or lead quotes and inventory needs with assigned customers.

Business Development**

Identify new sourcing opportunities in collaboration with the Purchasing Manager.

Support follow-up efforts with supplier leads and customer service inquiries.

Assist in the evaluation of new suppliers or product opportunities.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to pricing transparency, supplier value, and internal workflows.

Leadership & Strategic Contribution

Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, vendors, and customers.

Support a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
