We are expanding our machining operations, which currently include a Haas 5-axis mill and a 3-axis CNC router. The Machinist will leverage their experience to work with our engineers to design parts, then independently set-up the job, including design/build fixtures and programming. This position requires a high level of independent thought and execution combined with good communication and collaboration skills.

[The Machinist may also support manufacturing efforts across other equipment in our clean and constantly expanding shop spaces. Some of the equipment includes: Bridge Port mill; drill press; TIG, MIG, and oxy-acetylene welders; plasma cutter; CNC-routers; FDM, SLA, SLS, and Roboze additive manufacturing printers.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Qualified Candidates will be able to support the following:

[Independently set-up and machine parts on Haas vertical machining center and CNC router, including design + build fixtures, CAM on-machine programming, tool selection, set work offsets, and perform dry runs]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Execute manufacturing operations within allotted timeframes and budgets]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Troubleshoot machine issues]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Exhibit safe machining practices]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Collaborate and effectively communicate with designers and engineers on part design to ensure manufacturability]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Verify dimensions and alignment using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, and other inspection equipment.]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Leverage strong understanding of machining various part configuration and features]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}

[Leverage experience to machine various materials, including aluminum, titanium, stainless steels, engineering plastics, and composite materials]{segoe="" ui",="" tahoma,="" sans-serif"=""}
