About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support our providers and enhance the patient experience. Our healthcare facility is seeking a reliable professional to perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties that contribute to the efficient operation of our practice. The Medical Assistant/CNA will work directly with healthcare staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, educate patients on common medical procedures, and assist with basic examinations.

Key Responsibilities

Update and maintain all electronic medical records in EPIC

Record patient information such as vital signs, EKGS, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment

Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments

Work in the front office, performing tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility

Scheduling Appointments for patients

Point of Care Testing (examples: Urinalysis; Strep Throat Swab samples; Blood Glucose; Pregnancy Tests)

Assist with provider exams (set up for papsmears, wound care)

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required. Certificate of graduation from an accredited school for Medical Assistants or certification as a Nursing Assistant from the State of Connecticut Department of Health is required. Phlebotomy Certification (National Phlebotomy Association or National Healthcare Association) is preferred. Current CPR certification from the American Heart

Ability to communicate and work with individuals who have health/social problems.

Computer skills are required with the ability to learn EPIC and Outlook.

Excellent customer services skills and the ability to accept supervision and assigned responsibilities are necessary.

Must be able to demonstrate competency in performing all vital signs.

Ability to read and write legibly in English and comprehend basic health information is essential.

Bilingual individual desirable.
