Job Description

The Director of Accounting is responsible for the accounting functions of general ledger maintenance, revenue recognition, budget preparation, analysis and variance reporting and works alongside the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to coordinate and complete all CIS-SA audits. The Director of Accounting is responsible for direct supervision of Accounts Payable and Payroll personnel and function.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5 years of accounting and finance experience

Knowledge of applicable Office of Management and Budget (OMB) accounting-related Circulars and generally accepted accounting principles applicable to non-profits

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Proficiency in the use of computers for fund accounting software and Microsoft office products.

Ability to set priorities and work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Masters preferred in Accounting, Finance and/or MBA.

CPA or CMA preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications/Requirements

5 years of leadership experience at Senior management level

Experience in developing strategic plans

Strong analytical skills, communication skills and ability to build relationships

A willingness to follow the CIS-SA mission, be adaptable to agency and system change, and coordinate efforts in a collaborative team environment.

Maintain confidentiality and professional and ethical behavior in all interactions.
