Sr. Electrical/Utility System Engineer

Columbia Rural Electric Association is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Senior Electrical or Utility System Engineer located at the Cooperative's Walla Walla Service Center.

This position performs complex electrical engineering analysis, design, and studies for the utility infrastructure system and equipment, such as power distribution, substations, transmission and generation systems. The Utility System Engineer will also develop project scope and requirements; coordinate with other agencies or groups; conduct economic and engineering evaluations, prepare computations, recommend action, evaluate project sites, evaluate environmental impact, test date, procedure and materials. May also perform engineering project management during project implementation. This position requires specialized skills and knowledge to provide support for the electrical distribution system, as well as overall system planning and design. This position will also work to ensure compliance with CREA construction specifications and applicable codes and regulations.

The applicant is required to possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. While not mandatory, it is preferred that the applicant is currently working toward obtaining licensure as a Professional Engineer. Additionally, applicants will have 3--5 years of experience in electric utility engineering, particularly in the development, maintenance, and implementation of long- and short-range work plans and designs for relay protection, substation, communication, transmission, and distribution systems will be given preference.

Salary Range (Depending on Experience):

Senior Electrical Engineer: $130,000-190,000

Utility System Engineer: $123,983-179,131
