POSITION: Seasonal Warehouse Attendant (Butler Bldg)

DUTIES:

Performs and maintains accurate inventories of items used for the Fair and

other events. Items include tents, popup tents, picnic tables, umbrellas, ice freezers, water coolers, decorations, tools and signs.

Inspects all materials and equipment and ensures everything is in good

condition or in working order. Recommends replacements as needed.

Maintains equipment by cleaning, washing or sanitizing and ensures that

all materials are properly stored when not in use.

Maintains a system to track items when they leave the warehouse by

documenting name, department and area of use to ensure proper tracking of materials & equipment.

Acts as the primary contact for carriers, staff, and vendors for mail,

freight and packages delivered to the fairgrounds during large events including the NSRA and annual State Fair.

Maintains a system to accurately document every parcel that enters the

facility by documenting information such as addressee, carrier, tracking numbers and number of packages, pallets or pieces.

Accurately manages package distribution by ensuring that parcels are

delivered or picked up by the proper addressee or designee. Documents pickup or delivery details and obtains signatures, dates and times of delivery or pickup.

Ensures that the warehouse is open for shipping and receiving during the

posted hours as required by the event or CSF Management.

Coordinates outgoing shipments by ensuring that packages are properly

addressed and packed. Contacts carriers for pickup.

Assists vendors, sponsors, staff and others with delivery of large

materials using forklift, pallet jack or vehicle as necessary.

Maintains warehouse by properly storing all items and keeping work area

clean & free of debris and trash.

Ensures security of building and contents by restricting entry to

unauthorized persons, properly closing and locking building during off hours or when unoccupied by authorized staff.

Assists with campground and parking lot setups by placing barriers,

painting lines, numbering spaces and hanging signs.

Accurately measures and marks booth spaces inside buildings and outside

exhibitor spaces as directed by Vendor Manager.

Assists with setup and placement of tents, shade structures, picnic

tables, Ice freezers, water coolers and other items as directed.

Assists with grounds and building preparation for events including

delivering and setup and tear down of tables, chairs, bleachers, stages, tents, etc.

Assists all departments with printing, laminating and placing signs.

Hangs signs, banners and decorations as directed by Event Services or

Programming & Partnerships staff.

Performs janitorial and groundskeeping duties as assigned.

Must be able to lift/exert 50 to 100 pounds to complete essential

functions of the job.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have prior warehouse experience including the operation of forklift,

pallet jack and general organizational skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to walk and/or stand for up to 4 hours continuously in

extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, wind, snow, rain, etc.).

Must be physically able (i.e. allergies) to work around animals,

animal feed, animal bedding and waste. You will be exposed to all @types of animals including horses, livestock and circus animals.

Background Check

Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance and adhere to

department dress code.

Must be able to effectively communicate with fellow staff members,

exhibitors, vendors and customers.

WAGE: $16.55 - 18.00 per hour

SHIFTS:

This position has been granted SEASONAL STATUS by the Colorado Department of

Labor & Employment.

Must be available to work up to a 16-hour shift including evening,

weekends and holidays with little or short notice due to the event schedule.

Must be able to work 8 to 16hours per day for the duration of events

(FAIR) with no days off.
