The Program Assistant provides administrative, clerical, and programming support to help ensure the program operates efficiently, reporting requirements are met, and families receive services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or higher required.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office setting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with strong follow-through.

Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion when managing confidential information.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets for data entry and record management.

Working knowledge of office practices, filing systems, professional correspondence, formatting, and public relations.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.

Experience with individuals with disabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with staff to identify families in need of respite services.

Provide program orientation and guide families through the application process.

Process monthly respite vouchers, as well as camp and college scholarship applications.

Enter program statistics and client data into spreadsheets.

Prepare check requests and maintain accurate documentation in client files.

Assist with monthly and quarterly program reporting requirements.

Provide community outreach by attending health fairs, resource fairs, and other community events and meetings.
