CMS KK, a subsidiary of CMS Corporation, is seeking anAccountantto support a variety of financial operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with J-GAAP and corporate policies

Handle month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations

Manage accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and expense claims

Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants for statutory audits and tax filings (including consumption tax, corporate income tax, and local tax)

Ensure timely filing of tax returns by our consultant and compliance with Japanese taxation laws

Support cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting activities

Provide financial data and analysis to support business decisions

Collaborate with the global finance team for consolidated reporting and internal controls

Support and communicate Joint Venture accounting requirements

Support monthly payroll transactions

Keep up to date with changes in local financial regulations and accounting standards

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in Japan

Proficiency in J-GAAP; knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP is a plus

Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or local ERP systems)

Business-level Japanese (spoken and written) is required; English proficiency is a strong asset

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

CPA (Japan) or other relevant certifications preferred

Must be able to travel internationally

Working Conditions:

Office-based position with standard working hours

Position could be located in Okinawa, Tokyo or Iwakuni, Japan

May be required to work longer during closing periods
