Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant specializing in Probate to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will have prior legal and/or bookkeeping experience, but we are willing to train motivated applicants with a willingness to learn. This role involves providing comprehensive administrative and legal support to ensure efficient handling of probate matters, including estate administration and related legal processes. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic law office environment, as part of a team dedicated to providing meaningful legal solutions to our clients and families in Northwest Ohio.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with probate case management, including estate administration and related proceedings

Prepare, review, and organize legal documents such as wills, trusts, petitions, and court filings

Manage case files, and assist attorney in factual discovery process in estates

Prepare inventories and accounts for court filings

Assisting estate fiduciary with accounting matters

Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and reports with attention to detail and accuracy

Participate in meetings with clients and attorneys regarding settlement of estates and probate matters

Maintain organized schedules for court deadlines, appointments, and filings

Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, proofreading, timekeeping, transcription, and phone etiquette

Requirements

Proven experience or internship in a law office setting with familiarity in probate or estate planning preferred

Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with probate forms and legal software systems helpful

Highly efficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines

Attention to detail in proofreading and document review processes

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $33,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
