Minimum Qualifications:

U.S. Citizen

At least21 years old at time of appointment

High school diploma or GED

Valid drivers license with good driving record

Ability to pass polygraph, reading & comprehension testing, medical, drug, and psychological exams

Successful completion of an extensive background investigation

Certification Requirements:

Applicants must have:

Active law enforcement certification throughKSCPOST, OR

Certification from another state eligible forconditional reciprocity, OR

The ability to complete the14-week basic training program at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (KLETC)in Hutchinson, KS.

Applicants must demonstrategood moral characterand meet all Kansas law enforcement standards.
