The City of Rawlins Community Development Department is currently seeking applications for the position of: Administrative Assistant .

Under the administrative direction of the Department Head, performs clerical tasks and functions required in preparation of routine correspondence and reports.

The Administrative Assistant performs a wide range of clerical, administrative, and customer service duties in support of departmental operations. This position serves as the first point of contact for the public, provides accurate information, maintains records, supports staff with technical tasks, and assists in ensuring the smooth functioning of office procedures. Process applications for building permits and contractor licenses. Collect, reconcile, and deposit related fees. Provide confidential secretarial support to department heads and supervisory staff. Compose and @type administrative documents with attention to detail and content quality. Attend staff meetings and maintain meeting records. Serves as Secretary to Boards and Commissions as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent required; AND

Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support roles; OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

Grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Personal computer operations and common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).

Office equipment: copier, @typewriter, blueprint machine, two-way radio, etc.

Administrative procedures and legal processes related to public records.

Cooperative problem-solving and customer service.

Typing and keyboarding, including data entry.

Interpersonal communication, both verbal and written.

Basic bookkeeping and accounting functions.

Work resourcefully under varying conditions and time pressures.

Communicate clearly and effectively.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, officials, and the public.

Maintain organized records and filing systems.

Adapt to changing priorities and multi-task efficiently
