JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the following, performs other related duties as required.

Under general direction, assists with the direction of division Inspection and Permit Office and personnel; directs and performs building inspection functions; oversees and performs building code enforcement functions; develops and implements policies and procedures; performs budget functions; maintains division records; establishes and maintains external relationships; maintains personal and professional competence and awareness.

Qualified candidates must possess the following:

Associate degree in civil or mechanical engineering, Architecture, Public Administration or related field preferred.

Five (5) years progressively responsible building construction experience, and two (2) years supervisory experience.

Must be able to obtain an interim Building Inspection and interim Residential Building Official Certificate within 60 days. Full certification must be obtained within two (2) years of appointment.

Starting Pay: $35.48 per hour

$36.78 per hour w/Building Official Certification

$38.06 per hour w/Building Plans Examiner Certification
