JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares journal entries in accordance with GAAP.

Prepares month-end accruals for assigned departments, factoring in accounts payable activity, experience averages, and calculated estimates.

Prepares monthly reconciliation on assigned GL accounts.

Assists in preparing inter-company billing sheets and documentation.

Takes ownership of live racing season bookkeeping.

Provides support to horse racing regulatory agencies, including processing on-site transactions.

Assists in analyzing monthly financial statements including budget and prior year variance reports.

Investigates variances from the balance sheet reconciliation and the PandL analysis, providing guidance for the department heads and the Finance team.

Prepares and processes tax reports and remittances as assigned.

Supports the inventory count and purchasing system needs as necessary.

Assists in analyzing manual cost transfers and inventory valuation.

Provides documentation for internal and external audit requests.

Assists with special projects as assigned by management.

Promotes outstanding customer relations.

Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

One (1) to Two (2) years of related accounting experience.

Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.

Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.

Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all Gaming Establishment employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree in related field preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without difficulty.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
