Finance Operations Manager

In this position as a finance operations manager, you will play a vital role in supporting BYU Continuing Education (CE) customer payment processes, as well as provide financial support to Continuing Education service departments.

What you will do in this position:

Manage bankcard payment processing, chargebacks, and refunds

Prepare analyses, reports, and presentations given to unit leadership

Recommend and advise unit management regarding budget creation and resource management

Prepare complex account reconciliations

Monitor effectiveness of procedures and implement process changes where necessary to maintain compliance

Provide general accounting services to assigned units

Manage hiring and supervision of finance operations specialists, including student employees, who perform accounting transactions

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business

5+ years of experience in accounting

OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business plus

6+ years of professional experience in accounting

OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and abilities

Required

Financial analysis, budgeting, general accounting, purchasing, problem-solving, critical thinking.

Proven ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, and manage workflow to meet multiple deadlines.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to make independent judgments and decisions.

Ability to train students and staff in finance functions.

Ability to be consistently precise, accurate, and thorough.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Professionalism, efficiency, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Proficiency with systems and software.

Preferred

Ability to manage teams.

Pay Grade: 53

Typical Starting Pay: $71,000-$92,500
