Job Description Teacher duties in Shepherdsville, KY metropolitan area, with no travel required. Plans, organizes and delivers programs of instruction that support the premise that high expectations for all students are possible, also implements activities that promotes the six learning goals, and seventy-five learning outcomes as required by KERA. Demonstrates proficiency in planning developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction that addresses Kentucky's learning goals and outcomes for students. Creates and maintains a learning climate that supports student learning outcomes. Implements developmentally appropriate teaching and learning activities that will implement the six learning goals of KERA. A. Applying basic communication and mathematics skills; B. Applying core concepts from all major subject areas; C. Becoming a self-sufficient individual; D. Becoming a responsible member of a family, work group or community; E. Thinking and problem-solving; and, F Connecting and integrating new experiences and knowledge. Implements Board policies, administrative regulations, school rules governing student life and conduct and develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure. Evaluates specific teacher/learning situation and communicates to students and others. Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by the law and district policy. Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with other professional staff members in assessing pupil health, attitude and learning problems. Performs professional responsibilities and duties as outlined in Board policy, such as regular attendance, punctuality, attending staff meetings, serving on committees, and accepts a share of responsibility for extra-curricular activities, professional development and professional growth. Demonstrates effective collaboration skills among peers, subordinates, supervisors, students and parents. Directs the work of instructional assistants. Evaluates own overall performance and develops a yearly plan for professional growth and development in accordance with state regulations. Aids in the administration of group standardized tests in accordance with the district or state regulations. May be asked to perform health related services for students after receiving appropriate training. Performs any other such duties as designated by the immediate supervisor/principal.
