Billings School District 2 is seeking a CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN for the Career Center for the 2025 - 2026 School Year. Schedule: 9 months; Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Wage: $21.60 per hour for 120-day probationary period; then $24.00 per hour Duties:

Supervising and instructing small groups of students in plumbing; carpentry, painting, layout work, concrete work; framing, electrical, sheet rock, mechanical work, roofing, hanging doors, trim out, staining, wallpapering, hanging draperies and rods.

Training students in appropriate use and maintenance of tools.

Monitoring student safety regarding site conditions, ladder and scaffolding, overhead dangers, ground conditions and other potential dangers.

Inventorying and purchasing materials

Securing supplies, tools, equipment and building materials

Maintaining all tools and tool repair

Preparing and coding invoices and statements for the Home Builders? Association

Maintaining records of distribution of tools and equipment needing repair

Maintaining all inventories of supplies and equipment

Supervising students in the classroom and at the construction site.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent;

Minimum of five years experience at the Journeyman level of carpenter or skilled tradesman;

Valid driver's license;

Special knowledge, advanced skills and abilities in the construction trade;

Carpentry; electrical; plumbing;

Painting; drywall; concrete form and flat work;

Sheet metal;

Transit;

Blueprint reading;

Operating a school bus.
