Duties:

Monitors and reports daily jail population data to ensure compliance with the Jail Population Management Plan.

Collects, analyzes, and maintains inmate population statistics, prepares daily jail counts and projected release reports, and submits required data for monthly and annual reporting.

Processes billing and reimbursement for MDOC detainees, parole violators, and other agency holds, including staff wage reimbursements for hospital guard duty.

Coordinates and conducts the weekly sheriff's foreclosure auction, including public notices, communication with attorneys, and related documentation.

Completes background investigations for prospective Sheriff's Office employees and reviews tether accounts for negative balances, requesting payment or forwarding to collections when necessary.

Communicates with MDOC and parole agents regarding detainers and attends Community Corrections meetings as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Associate degree in criminal justice or a related field and two years of criminal justice related experience; OR

High school diploma or GED and four years of criminal justice related experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of the criminal justice system, data collection methods, and automated information systems.

Proficient in personal computer applications.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Able to analyze situations, solve problems, and follow direction with minimal supervision.
