Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated, experienced and motivated Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our ready-mix concrete plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing personnel, ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service at our Defiance, Ohio AND Butler, Indiana plants. This position plays a vital role in the success and productivity of our operations.

Duties

Manage all day-to-day operations of the ready-mix plant, including production, maintenance, quality control and safety.

Supervise plant staff, drivers and dispatchers to ensure efficient scheduling and timely deliveries.

Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and builders supply items and coordinate with vendors for timely replenishment.

Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

Track production output and implement improvements to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.

Oversee maintenance and repairs of plant equipment and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules.

Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to meet customer expectations and resolve issues.

Maintain accurate production and delivery records, reports and logs.

Lead and train employees to uphold company values and productivity standards.

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ready-mix concrete operations or a related industry.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Knowledge of concrete batching systems and plant equipment.

Understanding of quality control procedures and safety standards.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and operational software (e.g., Sysdyne or similar)

CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus

High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Construction Management, Business or Engineering is preferred.

Working Conditions

Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle physical demands.

Some weekend and evening work may be required.
