How You Will Make an Impact

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-orientedDirector of Electrical Engineeringto lead electrical design efforts across multiplePower Distribution and Microgridprojects. This role requires deep expertise inpower systems engineering, including generator assets (portable and fixed),Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), andswitchgear design. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to assess feasibility, lead complex design efforts, and eventually scale systems to support large-scale power plants (e.g., 29MW using distributed generation).

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development ofpower distribution systems, includingswitchgear,transformers,protection relays, andcircuit breakers.

Oversee the creation and review ofsingle-line diagrams,electrical schematics, andBill of Materials (BOMs).

Collaborate with vendors, EPCs, and contractors to ensure propercommissioning,functional acceptance testing (FAT), andmanufacturing testing.

Evaluate and qualify subcontractors for design and construction of power distribution interconnections.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, especially inpower system design fundamentals.

Interface with customers to understand load requirements and design systems that safely and efficiently feed those loads.

Supportinterconnect applicationsand coordinate with electrical and gas utilities.

Lead efforts to design and build scalable power plants using modular generator systems.

Ensure compliance withUL 2200,NFPA 70, and other relevant codes and standards.

Troubleshoot and provide field support for deployed systems, including signal testing and functional validation.

Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and inspection teams.

Assist in buildingCAPEX budgetsand support project management efforts.

Participate in safety meetings and ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

5+ years of experience inpower systems engineering, with a focus onthree-phase AC power,switch-mode converters, andelectrical enclosure design.

Proficiency inAutoCAD Electricaland electrical test equipment.

Strong understanding ofgenerator systems, including output characteristics and connection box configurations.

Experience designing systems fordata centersand other critical infrastructure.

Ability to interpret vendor documentation and translate it into actionable design plans.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience withUL 2200compliance.

Familiarity withdata center backup systemsanddistributed generation.

Hands-on experience withcommissioning,FAT, andfield troubleshooting.

Ability to teach and mentor others inpower system design, including interpreting and creating single-line diagrams.

Experience designing scalable powerplants using modular generator units.
