Sales Representative Job Description

Position Summary

The Sales Representative plays a key role in driving ATEXs growth by expanding product sales in both new and existing markets, strengthening customer relationships, and promoting the ATEX brand. Working closely with the Director of Sales and the sales team, this role develops and executes sales strategies, manages customer accounts, coordinates marketing initiatives, and ensures exceptional customer service. This position requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive company information with the highest level of confidentiality.

The Sales Representative position reports to the Director of Sales, and it is a salaried, exempt position with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

Partner with the Director of Sales to create and maintain a comprehensive sales plan aligned with company growth and revenue goals.

Manage domestic and international customer accounts, ensuring satisfaction and retention.

Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through trade shows, conferences, directories, online research, and other sources.

Qualify sales leads and conduct timely follow-ups with prospective and existing customers.

Collaborate with customers to understand technical and business objectives and assist in new product development.

Customer Relationship Management

Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, including production, lab, and shipping.

Ensure timely and accurate communication internally and externally.

Review and verify customer orders, pricing, and specifications before acceptance.

Address and resolve customer issues promptly, documenting non-conformities when necessary.

Monitor finished goods inventory to match customer needs and coordinate timely shipments.

Marketing and Brand Development

Support ATEX brand awareness through the creation of brochures, flyers, advertisements, and social media content.

Assist in maintaining and updating the company website.

Coordinate and participate in trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.

Administrative and Reporting

Maintain accurate customer data in CRM systems.

Prepare customer-related reports and maintain commercial department documentation.

Collaborate with the Shipping Manager to manage waste material disposal and inventory turnover.

Team and Company Contributions

Actively participate in company and quality management meetings.

Contribute to workplace safety, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Stay informed about market trends and industry developments.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field; OR minimum five (5) years of relevant experience and training.

Proven sales experience; familiarity with manufacturing of rolled goods and/or nonwovens preferred.

Strong business acumen with the ability to read and interpret business periodicals, technical documents, contracts, and regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce professional reports and presentations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to create charts, graphs, and professional documents.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to frequent changes.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

High attention to detail, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and distinguishing colors.

Work Schedule and Expectations

Standard schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in office, with flexibility for travel or special business needs.
