The Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, for participants of an adult day care center. The position requires maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen environment and preparing meals in accordance with applicable food safety requirements and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards and policies.

Duties include:

Plan and prepare daily meals and food items for adult day care participants.

Develop and prepare menus while considering participants' dietary restrictions, nutritional needs, and food preferences.

Prepare meals in accordance with CACFP standards, applicable food safety requirements, and agency policies and procedures.

Prepare meals that are appropriate for elderly individuals and individuals with disabilities.

Accommodate individual dietary needs and restrictions as directed by agency policies and participant care requirements.

Prepare meals with appropriate consideration of sodium, sugar, nutritional content, and portion requirements.

Maintain the licensed kitchen, food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and storage areas in a clean and sanitary condition.

Follow proper food handling, sanitation, storage, temperature-control, and kitchen safety procedures.

Coordinate kitchen activities and division of food preparation tasks with other kitchen staff.

Monitor food and kitchen supplies and submit weekly purchasing lists to the Administrator.

Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.

Prepare food for scheduled daily meal service and ensure meals are ready and served according to the center's schedule.

Maintain records and complete kitchen-related documentation as required by agency policies and applicable regulations.

Follow all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and food service requirements.

Perform other related cooking and kitchen duties as assigned.
