We are a small local construction company in Hawaii looking for a Construction Manager. The Construction Manager performs a wide variety of works that includes working with wood and its structures, finish carpentry, plumbing, tile installing, drywall and plastering, painting, performing other related duties as assigned. The Construction Foreman is also able to manage a crew of two or more individuals.

Responsibilities:

Co Communicates results to Project Manager for review and changes as necessary.

Lays out work, cuts, saws, joins, glues, and assembles lumber, rough framing, and allied materials in the repair of buildings including window screen repairs/constructing new screens, addition to existing buildings and renovations.

Evaluates and adheres to the construction schedule provided by the Project Manager.

nstalls wood or steel framing to rough-in windows, doors, walls, dry walls, acoustic soundproofing, thermal insulation in ceilings and walls, air conditioning window units, ceiling fans, floors, ceilings, stairs, decorative paneling, laminated plastics, and acoustical tile in interior and exterior structures, and other carpentry related work.

Finish Carpentry includes-

Building and installing cabinets, such as kitchen cabinets and under-stair cabinets.

Installing wainscoting, baseboards, door trim, and other final touches.

Building and installing stair railings.

Installing interior doors such as pocket doors and checking that the doors are aligned correctly and open and close the way they should.

Building shelves, other storage solutions, and furniture.

Painting work includes-

Operating sandblasting machines to strip existing coatings, removing rust and scale, and profiling metal surfaces for new coatings.

Appling paints using High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP), conventional, and powder coating spray systems.

Preparing metal or concrete surfaces by removing grease, old paint, rust, and scale.

Cleaning and smoothing surfaces with sandpaper, emery cloth, and wire brushes.

Matching colors and mixing various coatings, including stains, epoxies, and enamels.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

At least 7 to 10 years of related work experience for Construction Foreman position.

For the finish carpentry work - must have a deep understanding of how to work with different materials (such as different kinds of wood) and different tools. Have expertise at shaping and fitting things.

Knowledge of construction, planning and execution.
